Scents and calls don`t work for mature bucks?

Somebody should have told that to two of the P&Y bucks I have on the wall. The primos " can" pulled one in, and a grunt call pulled the other one in. They were both going to pass at a fair distance, but the calls stopped them, then turned them right to me.

Another P&Y buck I have died with his nose in a mock scrape freshly touched up with doe in heat lure. Admittedly, that buck came from up wind and just happened to run into the scrape. But once there the scrape and lure held him until I could get the camera running.

Maybe this stuff works better in some parts of the country than it does in others.
