Loose. i want to be able to kinda feel it touch my hand somewhere so i know its there. But to loose and i tend to grab my bow, to tight and it tourques big time. I also give a vote to the braided slings, they flex a little and they look cool. The plastic tube ones dont give enough for me. You can also just take regular rope and make your own, i like those the best.
