RE: Savage 10 FP
I recently bought a savage M12 bvss in 22-250 and mounted a 6.5x20 weaver grand slam scope on it. The first load I tried in it was 36 gr H380 in remington brass, fed GM210 primers, and a 55 gr ballistic tip seated out to touch the lands which is 2.517" in my rifle. The first group I shot with it went around .4" . I walked it up to 38.0 grains H380 with everything else the same and now with 150 rounds through it it will average around .3" at 100 yds. It was kind of a let down not having to do any load development to speak of for this rifle. I kind of enjoy working up a load but this thing shot amazing groups from the get go. The accutrigger is wonderful, best factory trigger I' ve ever seen.
I' m a FFL holder and I sold a couple of savages to friends on my recommendation. One guy has a .308 M12 FLV and the other a .22-250 M12 FV. Both of these rifles will easily shoot under 1/2" at 100 yds as well. I' d like to see someone show me any other maker out there where you can pick up three of their rifles and all three will shoot under 1/2" groups. There isn' t any manufacturer (customs excluded) who can provide that level of accuracy consistently other than savage. I wholeheartedly recommend them to anyone who wants a quality, accurate rifle. They' re the best value out there in my opinion.
