We built an ole type crapper with some 2X4's and chip board. It has a bench type seat with a regular toilet seat. We dug a nice square hole 4' and dragged it over. We use lye and throw some down there when we are done. We actually dug a new hole a few weeks ago and filled the old one back in. Kinda looked like a termite mound down there! LOL!!!!

Sounds like a good idea OGH, but in all honesty...I'd rather grab hold of a 3" sapling, bend-er down, hang on and let loose any day of the week, rain or shine......than sit in an outhouse crappin up an already crapped up crap hole.[&:]
lol, its not that bad, the Lye kills the smell somewhat, and if you want, you can put a ABS pipe for a vent, helps vent some of the smell.

this is what we do as well, but our seat is a peice of Blue insulation...always nice and warm put a small propane heater in there, and your crappin in style
