Alright, take it easy guys. This is supposed to be a forum where we can all share stories, ask for advice, and learn. It sucks when this happens, but like everyone knows, it does happen. Whether or not he rushed the shot doesn't matter now because he already took the shot. Telling the guy how stupid his mistake was, is not going to help.
Keep at it, and even if you are going to hunt for another deer, keep your eye on the area where you shot him because if it did hit guts there is a good chance he'll be right there somewhere. Maybe he is still alive and you can get another shot at him. None of us can tell you for sure if he is or isnt alive as we are simply looking at a computer screen.
