Thanks guys.... i love those long 20 foot drags... and don't mind that long drive accross the street either...LOL!
FG, i wasn't using a patched round ball, but that would have been fine for deer. i had a 410 grain hornady conical with 70 grains of pyrodex P in her.... i was set up for hunting elk. a bit much for deer IMO. damn good thing i didn't catch a shoulder blade with that chunk of lead. i'd have blown him to smithereenies!
it got down into the high 30's here last night.... excellent meat hanging weather. i like to let em hang 4-5 days if possible.....got to watch em close in warmer weather though...if its getting into the 70's during the day. i cut em up pretty quick.....
