I have hunted out of the doghouse for a few years and I love it. Make sure you practice drawing back and not having your elbow hit the blind. I usually draw my bow back with my arrow pointed towards the ground in the corner and then move up to the window. I sit on a 5 gal and do not use the shoot through windows i think they make a noise when you shoot through them. Also you should look into getting one of these they work great

Any more than that you will have to much light coming in and the deer will see you moving. Make sure you practice shooting out of the blind so you do not get out there and realize that you are sitting up to high and can only shoot about 4 ft in front of you. (I found that out this year when my dad set up my blind for me a few days before I got up north) But I love hunting on the ground I would suggest it to anyone who has not tried it.
