Now, if they had real nice synthtic stocks and replaced the safetys, and modify thier actions where the bullets will feed better, it will be a heck of a gun.
Seems Herman is getting pretty dialed in to me,wait till the barrel breaks in fully and he gets the stock stiffened a little.A little epoxy and some light tubes or rods in the forend will stiffen that factory stock right up for very little $.Sharp Shooter Supply offers a super synthetic stock from stockade that has an alum. bedding skelton and works great for about $225.The safety is a tang three position safety thats fully factory adjustable for as much or little tension on it as you want, middle position allows opening bolt and unloading without unblocking trigger.I have not seen one so much as hic-cup when feeding in 39 years and have fooled with at least a dozen bolts and half dozen levers in Savage. They are some of the most accurate guns out of the box sold today and the accu-trigger blows all other factory triggers away.I predict most other gun makers will have to come out with their own versions in the future to keep up.

Well, so much for " the most accurate out of the box rifle" . Don' t mean insult to injury, but I fell down this savage road myself and was disappointed.
Don' t see too many rifles shooting sub 1/2" groups out of the box like Herman is starting to do huh?Fact I' ve seen some guns with extensive work and money in them that wouldn' t shoot under 1/2" ever no matter what was done for them. You did well Herman and the best is yet to come as you get really tuned in you will start to shoot 1/4" -1/2" groups with regularity. And all for under $500!Try one of those Sharp Shooter stocks if you want a great factory stock alternative.I' m getting ready to get my 12FV 22-250 bedded with one of those stocks and get the action squared and trued, maybe it will tighten up from .4-.5 groups to shooting one ragged hole at 100yds .1-.2 sounds good to me.Keep us posted on your progress and remember bigcountry just don' t " understand" he fell, the rest of us walked.
