the 2nd amend. was added in 1786 10 years after the dec. of independence
But it was a shorten version of language found in the 1776 declartion of rights

So this country was around for 10 years when the founding fathers relized our right and need to keep and bar arms for a free nation.

i hate to but i have to disagree with ya tim. "without gun rights we have no rights" the 2nd was only an amendment added at a later date. we did have "rights" before that.
All i want is for people to make an informed decision. not make decisions based on what they see on TV or as i saw the other day, and this really sent me off the edge, "because she is hot".
I'm gonna vote for what is best for the country. not just for me. whichever one that might be for.
