I don' t know if you' re asking about visual only, but I have had several occasions where I have smelled a turkey before, or at the same time as, I saw/heard it. They smell like warm earth with pine, to me.
Snowdog! There have been times I thought I could smell that " bird like" smell too... I hope you' re not " setting me up [&:]" At the time I thought that maybe I just wanted a gobbler so badly that I was imagining it?? Maybe we don' t give ourselves enough credit--for the animal senses that we do have...I' m sure we' ve all smelled that " rutting buck" smell in the woods--why not a BIG OL' wet gobbler
Jeesh! Maybe there IS something to that " Turkey Scent" ....of course it matters only if the Tom smells it and is " lured in by it" .....personally, I don' t think so...but I' m still learning too!
