good pheasent hunting close to missouri. try "show me birds" which is about 30 minutes from joplin or another good ranch but is abit pricey is "Beaver Creek Ranch" and is a good 8-9 hour drive from joplin. both have there pro's and con's but both offer great hunting. and they suply the guide and dogs and some great size birds. you will need an out of state lisence and book your trip well in advance.
