Default RE: first colorado elk

Hey I was finally smart enough to get the pic bigger. LOL
We killed both bulls on opening morning but they were a long way apart. He went one way and I had went another. My brother also missed a bull. There were four of us.The reason we were there is because my dad loved going to the mountains and hunting elk. He passed away and wanted some of his ashes spread back in the area where we hunted. So even though we had tags any elk was just a bonus. About 20 mins after we poured his ashes out, a bull bugled and walked out in the meadow about 200 yards from camp. 3 bulls began to bugle back and forth. This was the day before season. We never saw the bull that came into the meadow and bugled again.Even though we heardand saw the elk south from our camp I went north tothe spot where my father had first took me when I was 9 y.o. I set in the same spot he had taken me and reflected on the times we had spent in themountains. I only set there aboout 15 to 20 mins though because the bull I killed walked out about 40 yards away. He was bugling the wholetime that he was coming. (mine is thesamller of the two but I couldn't behappier) Very special trip.
