Default RE: Wind speed and effect on deer movement

its true that WHITETAILS dont move much in the wind, however if you have ever hunted in the western states where the wind is constant, they still move. I was hunting last week in wyoming and Mulies and elk were moving all day with 40mph winds.

However back home in whitetail country they will hold up typically in heavey and swirling winds, especially mature deer.

When i know its going to be windy that day i try to slip in super early to a stand that has a lot of cover and wind blocking trees and brush, then i glass hard, to try and find the deer that bedded up, if you move slow and still hunt that can work too.
