Default RE: Official Team 21 Thread

BAck from an eventfull weekend. Saturday morning started off with movement at 7:30. What looked like a doe came walking down the same path as the buck from earlier[:@]. Then I noticed this was a lone deer....a BB? It stopped broadside at 5 yds and relieved itself in front of my stand, turned and licked it's hind leg - No Buttons! Clicked on the release and never had a clear shot after that, she walked behind branches out of site. About 9 am I detect movement down the hill on the left. One, two, three, four does coming right up the road which is about 10 yds to my left. They all ( or so I thought) passed behind a couple trees obstructing the view so I stood up and got ready. When they passed they were at about 45 yards, no shot.

Came out for the morning around 10 and helped my hunting partner track down a doe he shot and was back on stand by 2:30. Nothing moving in the afternoon, then as soon as the sun dipped below the treeline, here comessomething crunching leaves down the hill. Before I see him he's on top of me, 15 yards out from the trail the rest of the deer have been using - 20 yards out. I had to decide real quick if he was a shooter, counted 8 points and a huge body - yep. Grabbed the bow off the hook, clicked on the release and he stopped broadside @ 20, behind a bent over tree and I have to stand up. I start to draw as I ease up and creeeaaakk, the stand shifts and he looks dead at me. It seemed like an eternity as I avoided his eyes but was probably only 2-3 seconds, after which he bounded off through the woods.

Was disappointing but what a day! Every sit in that stand has produced sightings, almost all within bow range.
