I did love the cool weather this evening. The forecasted (ideal) NNE wind was a WNW-NW which was eh, so-so. I saw a nice 2.5 yr old, probably about 105-110. Decent mass for a younger buck. Almost bleated in a doe. And speaking of, have any of you ever heard a deer screech? I'm not on drugs, I didn't fall out of my tree on my head. But I swear to you, this doe was walking around the woods screeching. Her 2 lost fawnsstarted screeching back and they eventually found each other.

Yes they screeched. It wasn't a bleat, it wasn't a grunt, it was half bleat half whining alleycat. Over 20 some years in the deer woods, I have NEVER heard this type of vocalization. [&:]NO idea?
