I took my son to the range today so he could have a little practice with the .22 before we go out squirrel hunting. Of course I had to take the KRB along so we could play with some different loads. The only shooting stall open on the range today was a 50 yarder, so I setup the sand bags and proceeded to shoot groups with a few different saboted bullets and varying powder charges. Most ofmy groups were pretty good. For my last group of the day, I picked up a box of 410 gr. Great Plainsconicals and decide to shot a group using 80 gr. of FFF Triple seven. I'd forgotten how well these things shoot. I onlyshot this one group before having to pack up for the day but, wow, was it a good one.
The first two shots almost went into the same hole, just about an inch over center. The third hit the top half of the bull. I wonder why I even bother with saboted bullets sometimes.
