My apologies to those of you that are military collectors....the M1 Carbine is definitely a collector item and belongs in the cabinet of the collector.

I had one years ago and loved shooting small game with it...it' s a blast. In most states it' s not legal for deer. But get a fox or coyote running inside a hundred yards and you' re in for a lot of fun as long as you know the country you' re hunting well. Sadly, the population growth in the last fifty years has made the " spray and pray" shooting more than hadardous....unless you live somewhere like wyoming.

I still contend that it has little practical use. Ruger' s mini14 and other semiautos have eclipsed the old carbine completely.
