I would recommend 800 gram. In 40-50 degrees you can just wear 1 pair of socks. When it gets into the 30's and lower then multiple socks are in order. Just buy 1 size larger to compensate for this. I use the adhesive toe warmers with 2 pairs of socks on the cold days and it keeps me on the stand.
