i found a nikon staight 4 power scope on clearance. but it was a rimfire scope. what is the difference between a rimfire scope and a scope for a highpower, or muzzleloader scope?
.................thanks dave
The biggest difference is that the parallax setting for the scope you're talking about is set at 50 yards, vs. 100 yards for the high-powered rifle scope.
I have the rimfire scope you mention, & it's splendid. I do, however, have it mounted on a rimfire rifle. If you want to mount the scope on a centerfire rifle, then you should check out the 4x40 Buckmasters, or similar. Actually, I found a 4x Monarch on Budsgunshop.com - I wasn't aware they even offered them in the Monarch line.
