RE: Magnus Broadheads
Last year was my first year using the 4 blade stingers and I took 3 deer and and elk with them. Pros: Very accurate head, never had a head fly so perfect with my field points, amazing penetration all shots were passthroughs and all but the elk buried in the ground on the other side, very tough, durable head, and if something ever does go wrong, for a fewbucksshippingyou have a brand new head as they have lifetime guarantees. Cons: I really thought the blood trails could have been better considering shot placement on the animals I took. True its only 4 animals but past experience said they should have been better.
THis winter I had a lengthy comversation with Mike (Magnus owner) and Woody (Magnus tech) and discussed my lack of blood trails. I was planning on switching to the snuffer SS or a heavier stinger, but both suggested I switch to the buzzcut instead as the chisel type serration will provide a better trail (keep in mind this serration is not the same as a knife type serration). So far one deer down and the hole and trail was a little better, only one deer but its a start. Side note, what a great, stand up company Magnus is. Not often you can speak directly to the owner of a company whenever you want.
