At our place in WV, I' d say that we are over 50 per sq mile. The deer don' t winter on our place (much) so we don' t have much problem handling that many. The buck doe ratio is still our of whack, even with intense doe harvesting over the last 5 years. We will continue to whack as many does as we can handle. I' d say we take about 8 for every buck. We' ve shot alot of deer over the last 5 seasons, and things have gotten better all around, but it doesn' t ever seem like there is a shortage of does around. The bucks have gotten better though.
