I had a very similar shot on a doe about 5 years back. She was on full alert and right before I shot, you pegged me in the tree. She spun when ai released and turned to an extreme quartering away. I was using mechanical heads at the time and a bow that did not have alot of KE ( stupid me but I did not know better)....I had no pass through. The doe ran 40 yards and fell over dead in seconds. The shot nailed her in the heart and her whole cavity was filled with a tremendous amount of blood even though I could find barely a speck of blood on the ground.
