I agree, check the topos next to a arial photo (I use Google Earth for free arials, and you can get free topos from terraserver.microsoft.com), take into mind your usual prevailing winds (weather.com, hour-by-hour forecast, i've found to be highly accurate in my area) along with your access points and mark potential stand sites. Then head out with the climber and try to scope it out. I've found the more homework i do sitting here, the less wondering I do in the woods.
