If conventional wisdom is correct your experience is on line... it is widely held that the "crud ring" is a result of a 'hot" ignition. When i shoot T7 from my side hammers i to use #11 mag caps. When I shoot it from an inline i do use a 209 or a 25acp ignition.
Normally, when shooting an inline I use an old Remington 209 called a 209-4 - they were meant to use ina 410 shot gun. I also use Winchester T7 primers and they work very well also. But here is the kicker when I first started using 209's I Cheddites and they also worked well also and i use that primer in a 12 guage hunting reloads -
I am one of those rare people that does not get the "crud ring' to any great extent no matter which ML I shoot.
