Went to Columbus the last two days for work so I decided to leave early on Sunday and film my brother in law. We have a double set strictly for filming and it was enjoyable. He passed on two small bucks at 20 yards and we saw several does.......took a shot and missed. That was his first miss........allegedly!
Allegedly? Brother-in-law here, It was truly my first miss, and a miss that I'm proud of since it wasn't the highest percentage shooting angle. The excitement of pulling off a harvest on film wasdefinately was racing through my mind. Clearly I'm not ready forthe big time yet!Upon viewing the footage .....if you want to call it that. ;-) It lookedlike the deer was 100 yards away rather than 20 yardsdue to the fact it neveroccured toMahoningbuck to zoom in.OnceI released my arrow, for a fraction of a second you cansee the light from my tracernock but other than that all you see istree tops and the sky. Mahoningbuck flinched as if I had just shot a muzzeloader right next to his ear. All in all it was definately worth hanging that double set during the dog days of Summer. As Mahoningbuck said, it was definately enjoyable and can't wait to do it again. I recommend thateveryone should have at least one double set or at least a buddy standso that another person can film you. It definately adds so much more to your hunting experience! Good luck to everyone out there this season!
