Default RE: Official Team Bone Freaks Thread (3)

Hunting for her birthday. I hope you know just how lucky you are.

Ok team I have a couple questions. 1) Doany of youbelong to a hunting club?2) What kind of pros and cons have you or friends encountered?

I am asking because I have a chance to get into a club where I live that has almost 5000 acres mostly in 2 large tracts and a bunch of scattered smaller ones.2500 acresof which is within a reasonable drive1/2hr to 45 minutes the other 2200 acresis about 2hours away. The club is maxed at 65 bow hunters, some are more active than others. It seems that at least five to ten deer in the 125" to 150" rangewhere taken each of the last few seasons and a couple 150"s to low 160's. They are on the walls either in the flesh orin photos.

Management is only reallyfullypracticedon one of the large tract, minimums of 6pt and spread outside the ears. The other areas are not strictly enforced but it seems that most are doing the right thing. No second buck till a doe has been taken is also in effect, where legal that is. Food plots are in and consistof corn, soy, and clover.

The season runs from Oct 1st to Dec 31st for bow and gun (shotgun / muzzleloader)is weekdays only in Jan from the first Monday till the last Friday. So 4 almost full months of hunting. What would you consider a reasonable cost? I am new to this paying to hunt thing (times change).

I took a tour of 4 of the 6 properties and all have great potential. The few membersI met seemednice and had nothing but good things to say about the club and how it was run. There are a bunch of things I left out, club houses at each large area. Room to store your quad and aplace to sleep at each club house if you are traveling to the more distant location. Minimum distances from stand to stand100 yds during bow season double during gun season. While this does not sound like much it is rare to have a 30 yard bow shot.

After some responses I will let you know how much, just want to get someuntainted opinions first.

Thanks Paul
