Dick, I have been there too. I bought 35 acres 2 years ago. Don' t worry, you cannot go wrong buying land. There is a limited amount of land so you won' t or should not loose money. My property gives me a place to hunt deer, and go to on the weekends. I was never a turkey hunter but this spring I tried it for the first time. I got a 19# tom with an 11.5" beard. I also found I have an abundance of Murrells. Neither the turkey hunting or the mushrooms were even a thought when I bought the land; they were welcome perks I did not expect to get. Wait till you settle in, then first time you hunt your stand and realize that this is your land. You will feel very happy.
