Default RE: "stopping" deer?

i learned my lesson...buck was jumped a good distance away but still came by me trotting...."bahh" he froze...i was already locked on him at full draw and arrow was loose as soon as he froze...at the same time he swung his head directly at me and ducked as he went to bolt.....never again. i'll let him trot off before i do that again. better chance of seeing him again rather than hitting him above the spine and wounding him.

havent shot one walking yet, but a typical deer walk, within 25yds, i dont think it will be super hard...and deer normally stop for atleast a second here and there every couple steps...

during the rut, i would likely stop a buck trailing a doe...
