Default RE: Savage 10 FP

I got to shoot the 10fp again this evening, found some of those 45 gr in the econo pack at wal-mark,what I found out today was that the more the barrel heats up the tighter the groups get, first rifle I have ever seen that shot better with a hot barrel. The lady that shoots the shotgun hulls at 200 yds was there today too I asked her if her shot better with a hot barrel and she said hers did too, said when her barrel was gold they scattered all over the place, her husband was shooting a M-16,and he said he allways shot 5 rounds in his before he shot any groups.
I haven' ;t gotten past 100 yds yet because I haven' t gotten any groups that I am satisfied with yet.Have you other savage shooters found that yours shoot better with a hot barrel, after letting the barrel cool for a while, the first shot hits about an inch to the right the next 4 will be touching.
I guess I will have to start reloading them to see if that helps,I ordered a set of dies, anyone with any suggestions will sure be appreciated.
I did notice one thing today,if I stanr the rifle up I can slid a dollar bill all the way down the barrel,if I lay the rifle in a rest, with the weight of the barrel you cannot slide a dollar bill between the stock and barrel at all.The stock is pretty flimsey.
