Not trying to start a theological debate... BUT.
I've often wondered about praying for the big buck to stroll by... I know all under God's control, but is that what He wants us to pray for?
I've always had difficulty praying for things I dont need. Sure it'd be great, but I just dont think it works that way...
however, I still sometimes pray for that, especially on a long, uneventful sit...
Hey Ed, good to see ya man! I always ask with the disclaimer, "according to your will" .... There are places in the Bible that say, "you have not because you ask not" ...although it goes on to say also, "Ye ask, and receive not, because ye ask amiss, that ye may consume it upon your lusts" ......so I always encompass my prayer with the according to His will .... this way if He blesses me with a deer, I give Him the glory .....
I like that...thanks PT. I do the same thing and sometimes have wonderedif I am"blocking my blessing" (i.e. lacking faith by not remaining firm on my prayers) But then I remember the scripture in Psalm 84 that states that the Lord will not withhold any good thing from them that walk uprightly. Not trying to butt in or anything but scripture/Word is refreshing this morning and I decided to comment...
