Not knocking your technique BlackLab,I just always liked to set up within about 30yards of my caller or decoy,but I live in KY and a long shot may be 2-3 hundred yards and a lot of times you cant see over the hill a 100 yards unless your in a treestand,it seems they might be less likely to see you when they come in,but more likely to see you if they are close while you are setting up.If you kill them like that,then I wouldn't change a thing .If you are calling in coyotes,then there is no wrong or right ways.I just like to see the look in their eyes when they realize that there is no rabbit or it's fake,I have a FX3 and thought about the upgrade but dont like the 2hundred bucks part,how long did it take to get your call back?
