Arrow weight, kinetic energy and penetration
I' m shooting 29.375 in. blackhawk carbons out of a 60 lb. hoyt magnatec. If I do the math right, the arrows, including a 100 muzzy weigh 379 grains. I' m not sure about the weight of the inserts, vanes, or nock. But I' m sure those three don' t add up to much. What I' m asking is 379 gr. a good weight for deer hunting or is it a little on the light side. I' m not too worried about speed, I just don' t want to arrow a buck and not have enough KE or penetration to down him. Thanks for the input!
