Hey herman, congrats on the purchase. You do have a 1 in 9 twist. Also you may have to shoot 100 rounds or so to get the barrel broke in to where it will shoot its best. In my experience the .223 is pretty finiky about what bullet or load it will shoot best with so you will have to experiment with lots of different stuff till you find what it likes best. Mine liked the Win. 45gr. hollowpoints in the econo.pack. Also my best accuracy was obtained with Hornady TAP ammo in 55gr. red plastic tipped bullets. Good shootin to ya, let us know how it goes.
