but I know more farmers that make an incomefrom farming than I do hunters that make an income from hunting. Do you disagree?
I guess you fail to recognize the impact hunter dollars have on the local mom and pop sporting goods store, or restaurants, or gas stations, or motels etc etc.
If the hunters leave and/or stop spending their money because they can't hunt Michigan's showcase animal there will be a lot more people hurting than farmers. You are only looking at them.
In the long run farmers will be just fine because they'll rotate to corn or beans, while the "little" guy depending on that influx of business each year shuts down because the hunter money isn't there to pay the bills.
