Oh yes, I've seen Waddel take this shot more times than I can count. Every one I've seen him take on TV the deer piled up in sight of the camera.
Like they are going to show the ones that don't work.

Read the threads on hitting and not finding deer here and every forum - apparently not all bowhunters have the god like ability of a tv hero - or lack the ability to edit.
