ya your right. I have my stand near a thicket i think is the main bedding are for the local deer. There is a 11 point i have been watching saw him twice from the road. I have found both rubs and scraps near the clover field. I have also seen them on thw west side i will be hunting right across the creek from my stand. Knowing my luck he will stay on the other side of the creek. Not a big issue thats what the pop up is for. I will set up and shoot him from the other side. Then walk around or across depending on the depth

If you're always seeing him after dark.....MY thinking would be I'm too far (set up) from where he's bedding. You know this....but the closer to his bedding area you can get (safely)....the better odds you have of catching him in the daylight.
