The best public land close to Concord is the Pee Dee National Wildlife Refuge...
The best time is during bow season...They also have 4-5 drawn firearms hunts...

The next best area is the Uwharrie Gamelands, further away, but you can hunt during
the full deer season...The Pee Dee land is off limits sometime in October...
