The rut usually kicks in around the first of Nov. and runs for about 3 weeks. If I remember correctly muzzeloader season doesn't start till the first of December. The rut is usually over by then. Your best bet is to hunt the food sources and hope it gets cold. Lots of deer in the area but getting hard to find a place to hunt. The river gets alot of pressure during the gun season. Good luck
