Golly - no wonder she went right down - not much would survive that kind of damage. Amazing that bullet would punch that shoulder and still come out the other side.

I really wish I could have recovered the bullet. I would have loved to seen what it looked like after doing all that damage.I've shot deer w/high powered rifles that didn't react like she did-and those were puny 120lb whitetails not 300lb elk!Unfortunatly I didn't pack my metal detector in my backpack to search the ridge with
