They do both like you said. It depends on the situation also I believe.
when you find a buck rub facing the food area, does that mean the buck is leaving the food source in the morning heading back to the the bedding area. And when the rub is facing the bedding area or woods, they are hitting the food source at night leaving the woods?
That's a good question Stab!! I think what you say Is right but not always right. Bucks I believe will make rubs also when they feel like It or when there hormones go crazy all of a sudden.
