I hunted literaly the border of the state park on private land. In my next attempt in Illinois, I will save my money and hunt the state park. During hunting hours I saw only one buck, but conditions were snow on the ground, clear skies, full moon. so, I would come back to the stand in the morning to find all new spots where the deer had been through. and driving to adn from the stand I saw some of the biggest deer I have ever witnessed. that whole area is fantastic. I have too many plans this year, or I would be going back. Illinois is a great place, just a bit expensive for us out of staters. (I used to be an Illinois resident, just not anymore!) good luck,
