My opening two days were active but no blood was drawn. Monday evening I had three does come by which I would have taken but they were just off the trail I was watching so no shot, then a while later a young 2.5yo eight came through, beautiful deer withvery littlemass. Fun to watch him. When it got too dark to shoot in the woods I snuck through a head high CRP field to peak into a been field and saw ten deer, including what looked like a decent buck although light was very dim. All were filing out of a draw about 150 yards east of me. I held tight until dark and then snuck out through the CRP so as not to disturb. THe next day I came back and made a ground blind in their preferred draw, fully expecting a shot at a doe for sure. As is deer hunting, not a single deer showed the next night. Just when you think you got a pattern, your left scratching your head
It sure felt good to be in the woods again though!!
