first, to 300 yards you can sight in for a mpbr, and do well, and about any high intensity rifle can be used to 500 yards using holdover, and even if your dead nuts on at all ranges with the BDC they start to lose accuracy beyond 600 yards due to changes in current atmosperic conditions. personaly I use holdover to 500 then dial beyond that with the aid of a ballistic program and a lazer rangefinder.
