well any 60mm would be great for range....cheapo bushnell's would work fine...sometimes you can pick them up on ebay or the Alpen 18-36 spotters. they are not too bad either for something cheap that can be used at the range.

for hunting purposes (if not a primary purpose) then any of the above would be fine.....if you want a good one for hunting (from vehicle or close to vehicle) i would get a 60mm spotter and maybe a little higher end bushnell or even nikon

if you want to use it for back pack hunting. then NO 60 mm...way too heavy.....get a 50mm MAX and get the lightes one you can get.
