Personally, that is a good question. I never tried shotgun primers. Although I have used Winchester W209. I should have my friend give me some and see how my rifle likes them. They might be hotter then a normal muzzleloading primer, but it would be interesting to see if someone has used them.

I think it is a shame the way the stores have increased the price of some muzzleloader supplies. The cost of #11 caps for instance. I can purchase .22 caliber bullets cheaper then I can simple caps.
