In NY we can only have a light that runs on 2 AA batteries while hunting. I always used a Mini Maglight. I recently upgraded it with a LED bulb and tailcap switch. That improved the brightness by a ton.
I read about these Rayovac LED tactical lights on Glocktalk and went in search of one to see how good they would be. They run on 2 AA batteries and have an output of 45 Lumens and a run time of 5 hours. Today I finally found 2 at walmart in the clearance section (they aren't selling them anymore) for $9.00 each. They normally run about $25.00. I picked up both and one is coming with me hunting in my pack. They are very bright and well worth the price. They also come with a wrist laynard plus it is the tailcap activation whick can be adjusted to perminate on/off and an adjustable spot/flood beam.
If I don't have a weapon with me when tracking I use my Streamlight Stinger and 3 D cell Maglight. I have tried the Gerber blood tracking light and the Surefire green colored green lens with poor results. This year I may try the Primos Blood Hunter and see how that works.
If anyone else finds these Rayovac lights you won't be dissipointed with them.
