Bo - for public land go get a BLM map and look for land along the coast (everything west of 80 and I5). In CA only 1% of all hogs taken are on public land, very low success rate. There are some hogs around Lake Sonoman and they allow archery only hunting around the lake in oct - feb. i believe (check out army engineers site for exact dates), but your best bet for boar in CA is private ranches. most hunts for a pig are around $500 or so.
took the words right out of my fingers. Make friends, that have land, let the word slip that you hunt, and hope they have a hog problem lol
