RE: South/Eastern NY Hunting Clubs?????????????
I would consider public land if you don't have a place to hunt. Most clubs can be a pain about rules and such. You have guys squabling all the time about all sorts of nonsense in the clubs. There are fewer hunters than ever before in NYS, so I think public land could be a good option especially if you can hunt during the week days and away from opening day. Plus the NYC DEP also has a bunch of land in the southern zone and with a free access permit you can now hunt most of this land. Some public areas are surely better than others, but with some research I think you can find a place to hunt without joining a club.
