Default RE: Do you hunt in the rain?

ORIGINAL: Mottz

If its raining hard, I'm going to try stalking. Last year it was downpouring so I decided to leave and as I was walking out I got to 10 feet from alot of deer. They jumped up and scared the crap out of me. Didn't have time for a shot. But this year I'll be more cautios.
I'm still young, dumb, and full of... well you know. I'm a weekend hunter (not by choice) so I'm there rain or shine. This being said I know it's almost pointless to sit in a heavy rain. I really like the idea of stalking.

Last year I was positioned poorly in a stand and the deer were behind me. I got out and out a clear day I got within about 30 yards before they got spooked and took off. Think I would of had a kill that day if rain were covering my footsteps.
