farm hunter; I agree with you that it' s being added as a fertilizer but I think it' s for the crop that you' re trying to kill, not the next crop. When you apply foliar fertilizer it produces a quick growth response. That makes the Roundup more effective.

I make ammonium sulphate as a by-product of the steel (coking) industry. We have plenty of stories about people who take home bags of fertilizer, add too much and either kill their grass or get so much growth that they need to mow every couple of days. Ammonium sulphate is not a very good fertilizer to add every year. It' s acidic and will destroy the tilth of your soil. Lunchbucket likes to say stay away from chemical fertilizers - this is one to avoid if you can.
